Building and Land Use Committee
We’re blessed, dear friends, to have such generous talent and treasure in the members of our community. I’m pleased to announce the executive members of the Building and Land Use Committee. Co-Chairs Jason Imhof and Steve Sefton will be assisted by Vice Chairs Lou Mamo and Valoree Eikinas. Kim Scherrer will serve as moderator. A brief bio of each follows.
Assisting the co-chairs and vice chairs are these BLU committee members: Bill Gurecki, Gene Harshbarger, Harry Chalker, Brian McGuire, Matt Einsmann, Paul Sevene, Vic Buenconsejo, Joyce Poynton, Keith Fenn, Jay Libbus, Bill Ciavarra, and Keith Bliss.
Jason Imhof has 20 years of experience managing commercial construction projects, including serving as the construction manager/general contractor for two ground-up Catholic churches. He is the founder and manager of Aspire, a Cary-based construction management and consulting firm. Jason, his wife Sara, and son Austin have been St. Michael/Mother Teresa members since 2014 when they relocated to Cary from Iowa.
Steve Sefton is the president of Danis Construction Company where he’s been employed for 30 years. His wife Michelle and three children, Chris, Megan, and Shannon have been members of the St. Michael/Mother Teresa’s since moving to Cary from Cincinnati in 2010.
Lou Mamo is married to Phyllis who serves on the Mother Teresa Mission Choir. They have three children and two grandchildren. Lou retired from IBM after 25 years of service during which he held a number of planning and management positions. He moved to NC in 1987 and chaired the St. Andrews Catholic Church parish council during their early community formation. In 2000 transferred to St Michael, serving on the Sister Parish Committee for more than 10 years. In 2016 Lou transferred to Mother Teresa Mission and currently serves as a Eucharistic Minister.
Valoree Aloree Eikinas has lived in Cary and been a member of the Saint Michael community for 19 years. Living in the western region of Cary, she and her daughter have been attending service at Green Hope HS since that was an option for the local Catholic community. Valoree works at CALYX Engineers + Consultants as a principal and structural engineer. She is a leader and very active in the local and state architectural/engineering/construction community.
Kim Scherrer has been a member of the Mother Teresa Community for one year and is a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion. She’s a certified project manager with more than fifteen years leading financial and healthcare regulatory projects and also has a NC real estate license. She has two children, Belinda and Joe.
Please join me in thanking these folks for accepting this important leadership role. Moreover, please pray for them and our efforts to establish a parish home on Yates Store Rd.

“Do ordinary things with extraordinary love.” – Mother Teresa
Our Mission – Mother Teresa Catholic Mission is a welcoming community, engaged in service to Christ and His people with great love.
Along with the many vital ministries we are engaged in as a faith community, we will give particular focus to the following objectives in this calendar year:
- Continuing work toward achieving parish status while exploring the possibility of a building on Yates Store land through our site-preparation planning and construction requirements for future land use.
- Further establish our Faith Formation programs for adults and children including moving programs under the direction and responsibility of Mother Teresa staff and volunteers.
- Grow and improve our communication efforts both within and outside of Mother Teresa community through all means available to our parish community with the establishment of a Communication Committee and development of communication strategies for our parish.
”St. Teresa of Calcutta, you allowed the thirsting love of Jesus on the Cross to become a living flame within you, and so became the light of His love to all. Obtain from the Heart of Jesus for our Mission to become a Parish. Teach us to allow Jesus to penetrate and possess our whole being so completely that our lives, too, may radiate His light and love to others. Amen.”
Immaculate Heart of Mary, Cause of Our Joy, pray for us.
St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us.
